On Oct. 8, the FCA organization came together for its first meeting. At the start of the meeting, the officers allowed underclassmen to join the Christian Lead Team, CLT. This group is for underclassmen, so they will be prepared and ready to later become officers. Then the four officers led three small groups after the lesson. Senior and FCA Officer Olivia Weiser explains how the meeting went.
“We started by getting to know each other and eating lunch to break the ice,” Weiser said. “Then I led everyone in prayer and we had our first lesson.”
After Olivia led the first lesson, the members were split into groups. The officers divided everyone into three small groups. Sophomore and officer Hunter Bomar got to know his small group and taught them the importance of their attitudes and being respectful in the presence of the Lord.
“I think we need to focus up more and see our true intentions of being there,” Bomar said. “After we set our priorities straight, it was a good group and we had a good time.”
Senior and officer Payton Mathison led her small group on the importance of being blessed and not just acting blessed.
“We talked about the importance of acting and being blessed. You can act blessed but not want to serve your community,” Mathison said. “It was really good, very impactful, and overall really good for the first one.”
Senior and officer Izzy Deaton confidently led her group, with help from Olivia, to success, as everything seemed to go well.
“For FCA, my small group went amazing; no one was shy nor discouraged to speak up in any way about God! We all put our thoughts out there and shared each other’s feelings. It was very inspirational!” Deaton said. “I hope our next meeting inspires other people to speak up! And have no fear, because we are a God driven program!”
Come out and praise loudly for the next meeting on Oct. 22.
