On Friday, Oct. 25th, the Hempstead Bobcats traveled to the Hallettsville Brahmas’ Stadium to be defeated by the Brahmas 55-3. This win solidified the Brahmas a spot in the playoffs and brought their record to 3-5.
“Certainly, when you play a game where you completely dominate your opponent, it will have a positive impact on your level of confidence. Week in and week out, we try not to change a whole lot as to how we prepare. When it comes down to it, it is about our improvement and not our opponent. Each week, we’re going to prepare as hard as we can for the upcoming opponent,” Athletic Director and Head Coach Levi Montgomery said.
This is the first win for the Brahmas after a five-game losing streak. This win was crucial for the Brahmas, boosting their confidence and earning them a spot in the playoffs.
“Now that we have made the playoffs, there will be playoff seeding on the line as we play Columbus and Yoakum. Playoff seeding does matter, so we understand these last two district games are very important,” Coach Montgomery emphasized,
Without wins against Columbus or Yoakum, the playoff seeding for the Brahmas will be on the tougher side of the seeding for the first round of playoffs.
“This program’s overall goal will always be to win playoff games,” Montgomery stated.
The Brahmas hope to continue their winning tonight as they face Columbus. Game time is 7 p.m. in Columbus.
