Under the night sky with the lights overhead, the Brahma Football team prepares to play some ball. With the first whistle waiting to be blown, the players line up ready to go, then the snap, and the game starts.
Hallettsville’s Brahma football team is ready to play football and win against the other schools at the Hallettsville Memorial Stadium. Senior Tradyn Williams believes they will do amazing this year.
“I think we will do pretty good considering we got an all-new defense,” Williams said.
Along with a new defense, Hallettsville had to hire new coaches, so Coach Levi Montgomery spent his off-season finding them. After getting two new coaches, Montgomery expressed how he felt.
“We are very, very excited about the new coaches,” Montgomery said.
The football team has had more players this year than in the last 10 years. This is shown with the 2 JV teams that the Brahmas haven’t had in a while.
“We are very excited because this means more kids are into football,” Montgomery said.
This is Coach Montgomery’s 3rd year being the head coach; Tradyn expressed how he felt when Coach Montgomery came to the school.
“He makes a lot of new (better) rules,” Williams said. “I like it a lot more when he is here.”
When Coach Montgomery was asked about his team’s attitude and willingness to work, he talked about the positive attitude on and off the field.
“It’s about the Brahmas,” Montgomery said.
This past Friday, the Brahma’s sadly had a defeat against Shiner on August 29th.
“Just try to win today,” Montgomery said. “Don’t focus on the past.”
