Students with a passion for storytelling, media, and reporting will soon have a new outlet to explore their interests. Hallettsville High School’s Quill & Scroll chapter is launching a county-wide Journalism Club this August, open to students in grades 7 through 12 from any Lavaca County school.
Whether you love asking questions, being in front of a camera, or expressing yourself through writing, this new club aims to give students hands-on experience in journalism, including reporting, interviewing, broadcasting, and multimedia storytelling.
The club’s first meeting will take place on Monday, August 25, at 6:00 p.m. in the Hallettsville High School Library. All interested students are encouraged to attend and learn more about how they can get involved.
Quill & Scroll, a prestigious international honor society for high school journalists founded in 1926, aims to recognize and encourage excellence in student journalism. Community outreach and fostering the next generation of journalists are central to the mission of the HHS chapter.
