Polish your boots and get your cowboy hats ready! This year’s 2025/26 homecoming dance theme is Nashville nights and students are gearing up for a night of Southern fun!
Student Council President Peyton Pasak said the idea came from a casual planning conversation after last year’s event.
“It was really just something we were sitting there talking about—what we were going to do,” Pasak said. “Last year we had the Great Gatsby theme, and all of a sudden we were like, ‘You know, people love to wear their boots around here.’ We thought a Nashville theme would be very fun, and everyone agreed.”
The dance will take place in the HHS school cafeteria, which will be transformed with neon lights, country flair, and creative decor.
“Oh my goodness, the theme is Nashville nights,” Pasak said. “We’re going to do neon signs, vinyls on the wall, and it’s just going to be perfect.”
STUCO is increasing ticket availability this year, with 250 tickets currently on sale, which is a jump from last year.
“Once those tickets sell out, we’re going to do a little bit of corresponding because there’s only a certain number of people we can have in the cafeteria,” Pasak said. “But 250 is more than last year, so I think it will give more students an opportunity to come to the dance and enjoy it.”
According to Student Council Advisor Christen Smajstrla, students can wear whatever they’re comfortable in.
“There is nothing required. You can wear what makes you happy,” Mrs. S said. “We put suggestions of attire for boots, because once again, Nashville Nights, but if you don’t want to wear boots, you don’t have to. If you want to wear your nicest dress, go ahead. If you want to show up in blue jeans, you’re welcome to.”
The dance will feature mocktails and sweets instead of a full dinner, as many students opt to eat before arriving.
“Drinks are going to be by Mrs. Ford with Sweet Obsessions—she’s going to do all the fun mocktails again,” Mrs. S said. “For food, we’re going to have desserts because we know a lot of people like going out for dinner beforehand. So we’ll just have a nice little dessert table and snack table.”
With bright western decor, country music vibes, and plenty of sweet treats, this year’s homecoming promises a night full of dancing, memories, and maybe a little line dancing.
