Over his career, Principal Briscoe has changed many lives and improved many parts of how students at HHS learn. However, all good things must come to an end, and new opportunities come to light.
Starting with the 2026-2027 school year, Briscoe will be the new superintendent at Edna ISD. While he is leaving HHS behind, this is a huge goal for both him and his family.
“It’s going to be a little different, a little change of scenery, but we’re looking forward to the new relationships and new people we’re going to meet,” Briscoe said.
Briscose has made many relationships here in Hallettsville, but as he moves on, he will make new friends, build new relationships, and create many more opportunities for the Edna ISD staff.
As he moves his career forward, Briscoe thinks back to his time in Hallettsville and how great the staff there has been.
“I’d say all of the teachers here at HHS are good candidates for teacher of the year, and every one of the students would be most likely to brighten my day,” Briscoe said.
When Briscoe arrives in his new town, he hopes to make a big impact, not only on his school but also on his community as well.
“I hope that I can become not only a leader of students and staff, but a face in the community for the district,” Briscoe said.
Briscoe has made a huge impact on HHS and Hallettsville in general. While it will be sad to see him leave, he is going to do great things at Edna.
On his way out, Briscoe would like to leave some fun teacher and staff superlatives.
