Over the past few months, the track team has worked hard to come out on top at state. After a very competitive season of pushing themselves to the limit, they achieved their goals.
On Saturday, May 3rd, Aiden Drozd, Colt Edmonds, Danna Jansky, Shane Migura, Mycole Pegoda, and Caden Willis attended the state track meet. The boys’ 4×100 team won first place, and Danna Jansky placed sixth in shot put.
Coach Dustin Keller is the boys’ track coach for this year. To ensure the boys did their best, Coach Keller pushed them the hardest he could, and there is a lot to show for it.
As the season went on, Keller was expecting the team to grow, but he wasn’t expecting the state championship.
“I was really impressed with the way they were able to pull together, and they were able to run for each other. Earlier in the year, they were getting fourth, and it was really exciting to see them achieve this,” Coach Keller said.
After this year, Coach Keller will start to work the team harder now that he knows what is possible.
“We are going to have a lot of holes to fill in and people are going to have to step up if the team wants to achieve it again,” Coach Keller said.
Next year’s team will for sure be worked to their hardest to make sure they do their very best. Now that Hallettsville has achieved such a feat, the teams will start to get more competitive and win more over the next years.
Be sure to congratulate the boys’ relay team and Jansky when you see them and support your Brahmas and Lady Brahmas!
