Hello Brahma Family,
I hope you all are staying warm and well these last few TexAlaska weeks! Let’s talk this week about how the devil tends to try to sneak in and steal our Joy when we least expect it. John 10:10 tells us, “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the fullest.” One of the biggest things we can get from this scripture is the clear contrast Jesus makes between forces that diminish life and His purpose to bring fullness, purpose, and hope. “The thief” can represent anything that robs us of joy, peace, motivation, or truth, fear, distraction, comparison, burnout, or negative influences. Jesus, on the other hand, offers a life that is rich in meaning, growth, and spiritual well-being, not just material success. For students and teachers, this word is a reminder to guard our minds and hearts. It challenges us to recognize what steals our focus and confidence, such as procrastination, self-doubt, or unhealthy pressure to measure our worth by grades alone. Applying John 10:10 means pursuing balance, working hard academically while also caring for our mental, emotional, and spiritual health. It encourages us to seek learning with purpose, understanding that education is not just about achievement, but about becoming a whole, thoughtful, and compassionate person. So let’s sum it up, John 10:10 calls both students and teachers to live and learn with intention. It reminds us that education is a tool God can use to build us up, not tear us down, and to help others and ourselves step into a fuller, more purposeful life. This has been a great week and just remember, do not let anyone steal your Joy! Go Brahmas!
