On Saturday, Jan 10th, Kadence McCloud was crowned Miss Hallettsville and will receive her scholarship money for the college or university of her choice! Now past Miss Hallettsville, Olivia Weiser, was in attendance for the pageant and to crown the new head of Hallettsville royalty.
“Miss Hallettsville was an amazing experience, I’m going to miss being with the friends I’ve made, and I hope the new Miss Hallettsville cherishes every moment because it goes by faster than you would expect,” said former Miss Hallettsville, Olivia Weiser.
McCloud has many plans for her reign as Miss Hallettsville and her future in general.
“With the scholarship money, I plan to go to college to be a beautician and to do hair, makeup and make others feel confident,” McCloud said.
The Miss Hallettsville title has been held by many generations of Hallettsville women, including Peyton Pasak.
“If I could describe my reign as Miss Hallettsville in a few words, it would be magical and a great opportunity. I think the Miss Hallettsville pageant inspires a lot of young girls to be their true selves and to show their spark on stage,” Pasak said.
McCloud was not the first in her family to be crowned Miss Hallettsville; her older sister, Shalyn, also formerly held the title of Miss Hallettsville.
“I’d say the person who inspired me to run most was my older sister, Shalyn. She had a lot of passion for it, and she even went on to do things after the pageant, and she definitely encouraged me to go,” McCloud said.
The Miss Hallettsville pageant is an amazing opportunity for all young women of Hallettsville to showcase their talents, looks, and to have their moment on the big stage, for McCloud all of this became a reality when her name was announced as the new Miss Hallettsville.
“When my name was announced on stage, the feeling was just pure happiness and joyfulness because I didn’t have a lot of confidence going up there, so when my name was announced, it was amazing,” McCloud said.
