77 days, 2 ½ months, 1848 hours. Seniors are counting down the days until they can walk across the stage and say goodbye to high school forever. With college or military commitments already over with, seniors are having a hard time finding motivation to keep up with their assignments.
“I am pretty tired. It feels like we are so close but so far away,” senior Nadia Evans said.
For many seniors, a common pastime is finding college roommates and picking out the perfect dorm room.
“I am just excited to have the freedom to decide where I want to go to college. I’m also really excited because I am getting to room with my sister,” senior Adison Bujnoch said.
The perfect dorm gets senior girls excited to start college and start the next chapter of their lives. HHS senior Payton Mathison, future A&M class of 2030, has been at work with her roommate decorating their dorm.

“My roommate and I have a shared pinterest board for our living room but I do have my own room and bathroom so I’ve been doing a lot of planning by myself for that,” senior Payton Mathison said.
Before seniors can graduate, they have to make it past the second-semester finals, and they have the opportunity to exempt them. All seniors have been on each other about not getting into trouble and making perfect attendance, a few of the requirements to be exempt from finals.
“My main motivation to finish my senior year strong is trying to be exempt from finals so I make sure I show up everyday,” Evans said.
As seniors get ready to leave, in comes the next graduating class. Current seniors have a handful of advice to pass down to underclassmen; academically and morally.
“Build a strong resume and start on your resume as early as possible so when scholarships come you don’t feel overwhelmed and apply to colleges as early as possible because the sooner you apply the less stress you’ll feel later on. And just ensure you’re kind to everyone,” Mathison said.
