Easter is a time of celebration and tradition, bringing together teachers and students in a mix of fun and reflection on how they celebrate Easter. From colorful dyed eggs to sweet chocolate bunnies, this holiday is often associated with lighthearted activities. Whether it is spending time with family, attending church services, or participating in egg hunts, everyone at HHS has their own way of celebrating.
For many, Easter holds a deeper meaning. Easter commemorates Jesus’ resurrection and marks a season of celebration and hope. Some celebrate by going to church, while others spend time outdoors with family, enjoying spring.
“On every Good Friday, we go to my mom’s house and we fish all day and whatever we catch we fry that night,” HHS counselor Brooke Mathews said.
For others, spring brings a change in atmosphere as new weather sets in. The new season can be just as meaningful as the weather it brings.
“I like the rain the best about spring, it soothes me and it also brings the crop in,” HHS student Peyton Prihoda said.
With spring comes beautiful, blooming flowers. From tulips to bluebonnets, color is everywhere during this season and you can’t miss it.
“I’m going to have to say Indian Blankets are my favorite flower because they grow all over my property and it looks really pretty whenever you have bluebonnets around them too,” HHS student Cody Farley said.
A popular part of celebrating Easter is all the desserts. Peeps, chocolate bunnies, and carrot cake are just some of the popular sweet treats enjoyed by everyone.
“I love those chocolate eggs, the ones with the marshmallow in them. Around three years ago, I tore up about three cartons of those, they’re so good,” HHS student Zayden Mack said.
From rolling away the tomb to stuffed chocolate eggs, Easter continues to bring HHS together in celebration.
