Homecoming is here for Hallettsville High School. There are many events planned for the week of HOCO- all leading up to the the football game and the dance on Friday and Saturday night.
The Meet the Brahmas Homecoming kick-off rally took place on September 29, 2024. All Hallettsville High School and Junior High fall sports teams were recognized and introduced along with band and cheer. Little Kid Contests showcased the next generation of Brahmas. Multiple food trucks and shopping booths lined the street, backyard-games were set up in the grassy-area, making for a fun-filled evening for everyone.
Homecoming week is September 30 to October 4 and will be filled with many festivities including dress-up days as voted on by the students.
Monday – Dress as a famous Group/Duo
Tuesday – BBQ Dad or Soccer Mom
Wednesday – Adam Sandler Day
Thursday – Generations Gap – Seniors: Elderly, Juniors: Middle Age, Sophomore: College, Freshman: Elementary or Pre-K, and Teachers: Teens.
Friday – Maroon out/Brahma Pride Never Fades
All are encouraged to have fun and dress up! Remember all outfits and costumes must be appropriate and in school dress code.
Homecoming court voting is out now! All voting links will be in your class’s Google Classroom. Winners will be announced this Friday, September 27.
On Friday October 4, our varsity football will be battling the Rockport Pirates at 7 p.m. The game will be a home game held at the Hallettsville Brahma stadiums. Homecoming court and King and Queen will be announced during halftime along with recognition from class Alumni from the classes of 1954, 1964, 1974, 1984, 1994, 2004 and 2014.
After the game, the Burning of the Letters will take place. Selected seniors will be lighting the letters. Due to restrictions on who is allowed to be behind the barrier, these seniors will be announced at a later date.
Following these events, the Homecoming dance will take place on October 5, 2024, in the HHS cafeteria from 7 p.m. to 11p.m. The theme is The Great Gatsby and the dance dress code will be the same as Prom. If you wish to bring someone from another school, you must fill out a form given by Ms. Smajstrla. Your guest must be of high school age, freshman, to below the age of 20. Get your tickets for the dance now from Ms. Smajstrla; only 200 will be sold!
